With just over a week before the heavyweight takeover the UFC 146 main card, the Strikeforce heavyweights take center stage on Saturday as Strikeforce finally complete their heavyweight grand prix. Josh Barnett and Daniel Cormier will square off in the night’s main event to crown a Strikeforce grand prix champion in what is likely the promotions the second to last heavyweight bout.

This weekend brings yet another solid two days of Mixed Martial Arts action with Bellator 69 Friday and Strikeforce on Saturday. The two cards each bring to the table some very important bouts, including one title fight, two tournament finals and a tournament semifinal. For members of the Spang family, two bouts will in particular will hold more importance than the others, as the Spang brothers Andreas and Chris fight on separate cards this weekend.

As this train wreck of a Heavyweight Grand Prix comes to a close, it really helps you appreciate that Bellator can put on so many snag-free tournaments. Through a slew of injuries, both real and painfully fake, and a great deal of completely random alternates, we arrive at Josh Barnett vs. Daniel Cormier, with the winner being locked in the forever stasis of the Strikeforce Heavyweight Division.

When we think of American Women’s Mixed Martial Arts, usually it’s because Strikeforce has a big clash set up. Be it Carano/Cyborg or Rousey/Tate, Strikeforce has been the home of WMMA of late. However, Bellator has a fight this Friday night that is very intriguing to the Women’s MMA scene. Jessica Aguilar faces off with Japanese legend, Megumi Fujii.

No competitor in MMA desires to be on the losing end of a record-breaking performance. In the case of Donald Cerrone, he didn’t take his loss to Nate Diaz at UFC 141 well, and it certainly showed in his outstanding performance against Jeremy Stephens at the UFC on Fuel 3 event Tuesday night. Cerrone is back in the saddle, so to speak, as he picked Jeremy Stephens apart in their hotly contested bout main card bout.

With Bellator’s Season Six winding down, we find ourselves with tournament finals, semi-finals, and a slew of tournament eliminators at Fridays Bellator 69. In the Middleweight bracket was have our finalists, Maiquel Falcao and Andreas Spang, who will then go on to face Alexander Schlemenko for the Bellator Title. On the Welterweight end of things, we have the last semi-final between David Rickels and Karl Amoussou, whom will then face Bryan Baker for the tournament championship.

Tonight the world witnessed one of the best fights of the year Dustin Poirier and “The Korean Zombie” Chan Sung Jung went four round in the main event of the UFC on FUEL TV 3. The fight would end a very solid night of fights that started on Facebook with six preliminary bouts before fans moved to FUEL TV for six more fights on the main card.
